Buying individual warranties for laptops, smart watches, and other devices can be expensive -and without coverage, repairs or replacements can put a major dent in your wallet. With a personal electronics plan, you can help offset the unexpected out-of-pocket expense of breakdowns or product failures with up to $2,000 in coverage for each claim.
Your plan covers repairs and replacements, if necessary, for laptops, televisions, gaming consoles, home theater systems, Bluetooth / WiFi speakers, VR headsets, health & fitness bands, audio headsets, DVD / Blu-Ray players, smart thermostats, smart door locks, smart doorbells, smart device hubs, smart home cameras, and smart smoke / CO detectors.
If you select the Personal Electronics with Mobile Device Repair plan, your mobile devices are also covered. You’ll receive up to $2,000 per claim for a total of up to $5,000 per year – and there’s no limit the number of claims you can make.
Coverage under our Personal Electronics Plans starts 30 days after you enroll. This 30-day waiting period applies only to your first year of coverage. This plan will auto-renew after each 12-month coverage period.
All Personal Electronics Plans have 12-month terms. Your plan will renew every 12 months. We will notify you of the renewal terms (including any price changes) within 45 days prior to the expiration of coverage. Unless we elect not to renew your plan, you will be automatically renewed for another one-year term at the then-standard rate and terms. If you do not want to automatically renew your plan, you must notify us prior to the plan expiration date.
*Our obligation to pay for the repair (including any trip charge, shipping costs, parts, and labor), reimbursement, or replacement of covered equipment is limited to up to $2,000 per service call and up to $5,000 per plan in the aggregate rolling 12-month period. Excludes service fees.
Once the plan commences, there is a 30-day waiting period before you may request services for a claim. Unless the plan provider elects not to renew the plan upon expiration of the first year, the plan will automatically renew at the standard rate and terms. You may opt out of the auto-renewal option by sending a letter to NRG Protects at P.O. Box 2309, Houston, TX 77252- 2309 or calling 1.855.241.9094. Sales tax will be added in select states.
