Have questions?

If you have a problem with your home plumbing due to age or normal use, a typical homeowners insurance policy is unlikely to cover the repairs – leaving you on the hook for the entire cost. But if the problem is covered by a Plumbing Protection Plan, we’ll pay for up to $500 in repairs per service call, and up to $2,000 in annual repair coverage. We’ll even take care of locating and arranging for service by a qualified plumber, saving you the trouble of searching for a repair professional.

You can choose a plan with the level of coverage that fits your needs. The Plumbing Maintenance Plan covers one plumbing maintenance visit per term, which includes an inspection, leak check and water heater tune-up. The Plumbing Repair and Maintenance Plan includes the maintenance visit described above, while also covering repairs of leaks and stoppages in interior water, waste, or drain lines, between the main shut-off valve and the shut-off valve at each fixture.* The Plumbing Repair and Maintenance Plan and Water Heater Repair PLUS Plan covers all of the above, plus repair coverage for the components and parts of one residential water heater and a $500 credit toward water heater replacement if the authorized repair technician determines that the water heater is irreparable.

Exclusions vary by plan, but all Plumbing Protection Plans exclude coverage for exterior water and sewer lines, sump pumps, sewage ejector pumps, garbage disposals, well pumps, well pressure or storage tanks, and water filtration or softening equipment. In addition, any damage caused, or costs incurred, to gain access to inaccessible interior plumbing systems is excluded.

Water heater coverage is available through our Plumbing Repair and Maintenance Plan and Water Heater Repair PLUS Plan. This plan includes repair coverage for the components and parts of one residential water heater and a $500 credit toward water heater replacement if the authorized repair technician determines that the water heater is irreparable. Water Heater Repair Plans exclude coverage for plumbing, gas and electrical piping to and from the unit, flues and venting.

Our External Water Line and Sewer & Septic Line Repair Plans cover all three types of lines (water, sewer and septic).

Under BASIC Plans, repairs to covered lines are covered for up to $5,000 in repairs, and landscaping repairs are covered for up to $500 in repairs. DELUXE Plans include all the coverage of BASIC Plans, plus up to $5,000 in repair coverage for public sidewalks and streets that may need to be excavated to access your lines.

Covered lines are covered for the repair of breaks or leaks due to normal wear and tear, including tree root damage. Coverage applies only to the portion of the lines that you own. For water lines, coverage is provided from the utility’s point of responsibility or from your well pump discharge line (excluding the casement/pitless adapter) to the inlet side of the water meter or shut-off valve. For sewer and septic lines, coverage is provided from the utility’s point of responsibility or from your septic tank to the point where your sewer or septic line enters your property at the foundation.

Some repairs and services are excluded from coverage. For complete details of limitations and exclusions, please review our terms and conditions. Examples of exclusions include:

  • Moving water meters
  • Repairs to water line devices like pressure switches, meter vaults, branch lines or storage or pressure tanks
  • Repairs to sewer or septic line devices like backflow preventers, clean outs, lift stations or pumps
  • Removal of debris or obstacles needed to access and repair buried lines
  • Thawing frozen lines
  • Movement or repair of buried wells or well equipment
  • Repairs to service lines owned by utilities or connected to commercial facilities
  • Repairs to improperly installed or designed lines
  • Any work that cannot be performed in a safe manner

Repair coverage under our Plumbing Protection Plans starts 30 days after you enroll. This 30-day waiting period only applies to your first year of coverage; if you decide to renew after your first 12-month coverage period, your coverage will continue uninterrupted. If you enroll in a plan with coverage for plumbing maintenance, the maintenance coverage begins immediately.

All Plumbing Protection Plans have 12-month terms. We may elect to renew your plan by notifying you of the renewal terms (including any price changes) within 60 days prior to expiration of coverage. Unless we elect not to renew your plan, you will be automatically renewed for another one-year term at the then-standard rate and terms. If you do not want to automatically renew your plan, you must notify us prior to the plan expiration date.

*Repair claims are limited to $500 per service call and $2,000 per plan in the aggregate per plan term. Plans are provided by NRG Protects Inc. Independent contractors will be performing various services under the plans. In some instances we may make a cash payment in lieu of repairs or replacement in the amount of actual cost, which may be less than retail, to repair or replace any covered system, component, or appliance.

**Coverage is provided up to a maximum aggregate limit of $5,000 each plan term for each covered line (water orseptic/sewer). The aggregate limit includes the cost of any permits required to perform services under this Contract as well as a maximum of $500 each term to fix landscape damaged by the repairs. You must provide Us proper documentation of any landscape repairs.

Once repair plans commence, there is a 30-day waiting period before you may request services for a claim.
